Uplift is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization led by a multigenerational, diverse group of women who believe that when one woman is uplifted, she brings others with her.
Why women and children?
Investing in women, especially those in crisis, is our focus, our passion, and our mission. Research shows the compounding effect of when one woman is helped that woman turns around and brings others up with her – usually her family + other women. We firmly believe that when women are active and vocal advocates for one another, worlds change.

Agile Giving
Uplift has developed the most straightforward giving model possible. A woman in crisis reaches out to Uplift, we quickly review her situation, we send money directly to the woman experiencing the crisis.
There is no lengthy application process. There is no grant cycle she needs to wait for. There are no obstacles. There is no catch. "Is this real?!" was a question we received from one of the women we served as she was processing the amount of relief she felt upon receiving our help.
Honoring the Women We Serve
The best way to ensure dollars are spent in a way that maximizes impact? That's not up to us. At Uplift, we honor the women we serve, which means respecting their unique circumstance and placing trust and integrity that dollars will be spent reflective of their greatest need - whether it be housing, clothing for a job interview, a prescription medication, or maybe simply groceries to prepare meals for herself and her children.
A woman in crisis experiences a full range of emotions, and even judgment from external sources. At Uplift, we are committed to providing a judgment-free, empathetic experience, serving women as if they are our best friend, sister, or mother.
Transformational Help
As you'll see in our mission statement, our goal is to support women to transform their lives. We envision transformation from heartache to healing, uplifting women out of their crisis. Our board of directors has used the word "transform" as a guiding pillar when it comes to decision making. It's our priority that Uplift's financial support is significant enough to support this transformation.
Our Strategy
Now more than ever, it is extremely important to have strong, female leadership who are resilient, value the mission, and lead with empathy and compassion. It is equally important to have a plan outlining intended actions. Uplift is laser focused on our intentions. What sets us apart from other non-profit organizations are four primary areas of focus.
Immediate Action through Agile Giving
Uplift’s model of immediate action to help women and children in crisis helps sets us apart from other non-profit organizations. Our focus on an online application for support paired with the power of agile giving will allow the collective community to support women and children, with special attention to those in a current crisis. Unlike other non-profit organizations with constraints of rigid grant cycles, and who do not provide financial support to individuals, Uplift can provide immediate financial assistance.
Women + Children Focus
Investing in women with special attention to those in a current crisis is the focus of Uplift. 100% of donations and gifts received from donors (individuals, groups, organizations, corporations) will provide us the ability to move quickly and easily to maximize the impact of your gift. We have seen the devastating impact of how a crisis can influence a woman’s life. Uplift vows to help lift women impacted by a crisis to help move them from heartache to healing.
A Small, Female-Only Board
A multi-generational, ethnically diverse, seven-person female board leads the organization.
We believe that there is power in diversity and a multigenerational approach who mobilizes quick decision making.
Collaboration
Uplift’s strengths not only set us apart from other for-profit and nonprofit organizations, they also complement others whose mission aligns with Uplift by offering immediate action for women + children in crisis.

We, ourselves, walk in understanding on how to support the issues and feelings women face. Uplift is an authentic and safe space where women at all levels of leadership positions have permission to share what is on their minds and on their hearts.
