What does it mean to be a part of The Uplift Community?
Over the past year, we have built a beautiful community of donors, board members, volunteers, and so many supporters from across this country who have gathered around women in crisis.
To be completely transparent, when Uplift launched its funding application to the public, no one knew what was going to happen. We didn’t know if women would apply. We didn’t know what kind of situations our applicants would be facing. We didn’t know what the scope of Uplift would be.
Now - a year later - we know that the need is great.
Each month, we have more applicants than we can fund. A year ago we could have only dreamed of supporting and impacting the lives of 105 women and children. But each month, we also have more donors stepping forward. Day by day we continue to receive applications from all over the country, and with your support, we can meet the need -- uplifting women out of crisis so we can all thrive.Through the generosity of many, we are able to extend support within reach to more women and children.
It is a significant thing to be a part of this community. What does it mean to donate to Uplift?
It means that when a woman or child is reaching out for help, you are part of an organization that is collectively reaching back.
It means providing clothes, food, shelter, safety, security.
It means supporting women - of which 80% are single mothers - from homelessness, natural disaster, the loss of employment, hunger, intimate partner violence, or a healthcare emergency.
It means that you have changed someone’s life for the better.
This September, we celebrate the anniversary of our public launch. An opportunity where each of you have been given a chance to change other women’s lives for the better. Transformatively. Through a straightforward agile giving model, you can help get money into the hands of women in crisis, meeting them in their worst moments with the resources to endure unimaginable challenges. To provide hope in a time filled with heartache.
Will you join us in this celebration by giving to Uplift today?
